INSTALL LEAD

Black Hound Design Company, a custom fabrication studio in Arvada, is looking for an experienced leader and fabricator to join our awesome team as an Install Foreman. We work with a variety of materials, including plywood, solid wood, veneer, epoxy, finishing, metal, and glass, so different skills are valuable. Install experience is strongly required.

We work really hard, under tight deadlines. But, we also have great senses of humor, and live by: work hard, play hard. We work in a fun, collaborative environment, so teamwork skills are a must.

We specialize in the commercial sector, doing large design/builds for restaurants, community spaces, and big brand retailers. We also do custom work for residences. A strong work ethic, hustle, tremendous technical skills, and a creative mind are a must.

Job Overview: The primary role of the Installation Lead/Foreman is to oversee installs to completion, while ensuring high quality craftsmanship, upholding staff safety, and driving the install to meet budgetary and time goals.

To fulfill this role, the Installation Lead/Foreman must be an excellent communicator and leader to effectively direct the install team. They are someone who hustles because they understand the importance of time management, efficiency, and leading by example. They are a quick problem solver, and can overcome install challenges by working with materials and equipment available on site. They are a forward thinker and anticipate the next steps of the install. 

This position will require about 75% active installing/buildings/hands on work, and about 25% oversight/admin work, but 100% leadership/management work. Black Hound works with a variety of material, including wood, metal, glass, and acrylic, so the install foreman needs to feel confident is leading projects with a variety of materials incorporated. 

When the Installation Lead/Foreman is not at an install, they flex to being an in shop Foreman as needed.

Background checks will be performed. A valid driver's license is required. 

 

Pay range: $25-$32/hour, depending on experience. Plus very generous paid time off, health insurance and a rad team to work with!

METAL FABRICATOR

DESIGN PROJECT MANAGER

The Design Project Manager works in two primary capacities. First is design-oriented and involves furniture design, space planning, decorative and/or architectural elements and creative construction projects. The other capacity is that of project management, in which the individual will oversee the execution of their projects, working in collaboration with the overall team. The Design Project Manager is responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and implementing design projects from beginning to end.

 

Project Planning Phase

  • Communicate with team to establish a comprehensive understanding of the scope and desired end result of any given project. 

  • Communicate with both internal and external designers/architects

  • Identify potential hang-ups, problem spots, or any items needing additional clarification. Collaborate to obtain answers, and/or communicate external designers to obtain answers

  • Obtain necessary measurements, site visits, etc., before builds, as part of the planning process


 

Build Phase

  • Plan the appropriate and most efficient schedule via collaboration with team

  • Stay attuned to the project timelines and budget

  • Hold brief meetings as needed with project teams for updates, QA, roadblocks, etc

  • Track all communication amongst client and team

  • Identify Change Orders. Communicate those C.Os to Black Hound and client team. Monitor and organize

  • Constantly measure progress to the initial project scope, via coordination with team

 

Key Qualifications

  • Background in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Industrial Design or Architecture

  • Creative thinker able to develop drawings/details from concept sketches and images

  • Highly proficient at interpreting architectural drawings, construction documents 

  • Experience with furniture and fabric specifications

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Strong proficiency in technology platforms such as Google Suite, Zoom, etc

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Pay range: $55,000 to $67,000, depending on experience. Plus generous paid time off, health insurance and a rad team to work with!
